Hand Knitted Textile

130cm x 58cm

‘White Rose’ is the second constructed hand – knitted textile inspired by the poem ‘Quite Contrary’ by Mary Davenport and the decorative rose motifs created by Charles Rennie and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.

‘Quite Contrary’

He brought her roses red,

He brought her roses white,

But a blue rose, she said,

Would be a lovely sight.
