This large equine painting was inspired by my memories of the horses and ponies with their foals, bred by my parents-in-law Don and Win Pye on their farm in Nottinghamshire. In 1972 I kept my own horse there and met their son David who I married that year. Our two children were born in 1974 and 1975 and we lived at the farm until 1977 when we moved to the first home of our own in Sturton-by-Stow in Lincolnshire.
